Dad Suggests was created to share with others the many different things that we have loved sharing with our own children.

Our hope is that - by reading or visiting our children’s bookstore - you will find something special to enjoy with your own family.

November 2020 Giveaway: 3 New Picture Books

November 2020 Giveaway: 3 New Picture Books

This month we have 3 brand new picture books to share with one of you. We actually took a closer look at all 3 of these books on our Instagram this month, and they definitely touch on some of our favorite themes - like self-confidence and empathy. And I can’t wait to share them with someone very soon!

Update 11/28/20: Giveaway closed! Congratulations to Amy C. on winning!

Super Rooster Saves the Day is mostly focused on the laughs - as the goofy rooster wants to be a superhero, and the hijinks he and his pig sidekick get into are very funny. But there’s also an important lesson about self-confidence buried in there too, and I’m a sucker for any opportunity to teach my kids to follow their dreams.

Sometimes a Wall… puts the emphasis on another of my favorite lessons of all time - empathy. It’s about the walls that can divide us - and it very quickly reminded me of Trudy Ludwig’s The Invisible Boy, and how important it is to be inclusive and learn how our actions can affect others.

And the last book in this picture book prize pack - It’s Not Little Red Riding Hood - is truly a laugh riot. I love sharing genuine humor with the kids, and Josh Funk’s fractured fairy tales are legitimately funny. It’s guaranteed to get the little ones laughing - and probably you as well.

And all three of these books look fantastic as well. The art is really great and engaging, and I think you’ll enjoy them a lot. I can’t wait to get them all into one of your hands very soon!
