Dad Suggests was created to share with others the many different things that we have loved sharing with our own children.

Our hope is that - by reading or visiting our children’s bookstore - you will find something special to enjoy with your own family.

March Giveaway: Bird Hugs

March Giveaway: Bird Hugs

Update 3/31/20: Giveaway closed. Congratulations to Mike B. on winning a copy of Bird Hugs!

Bird Hugs is one of those books you can actually safely judge by its cover. If the color scheme, the quirky style of those animals, and the fact that there’s a bird hugging a bear on the cover speaks to your psyche - there’s a good chance you’re going to love this picture book very much.

I’m very excited to say that we’re going to share this new picture book from Ged Adamson with one of you this month. We loved Bird Hugs so much that it made an appearance on our first ever edition of Dad’s Bookshelf - which is high praise around here.

Bird Hugs tells the tale of a bird named Bernard whose wings are too long and floppy to be good for flying. But he learns valuable lessons about friendship as well as celebrating our own strengths and differences - all things we’re always happy to reinforce with the kids. And my goodness is it a charming and very good looking book. I can’t wait to send it to one of you!
